Woodchip mulch makes an excellent soil mulch and conditioner. Spread on the soil surface, it retards the germination, growth and spread of weeds and makes their removal easy. It helps reduce water loss during the hotter months and adds important organic matter as it degrades, increasing worm populations hugely! Borders also look much tidier
